What the hell is "The Contest?"

I keep hearing that the best episode is "The Contest," and I gather it has something to do with masturbation. Would someone PLEASE elaborate for me?

Lori, it has EVERYTHING to do with masturbation... The gang of four have a bet on who can hold out (from sex) the longest. The guys have their will power tested by a naked woman they can see out Jerry's window in another bldg., Elaine is "stressed" by working out at a gym where JFK Jr. goes, and Jerry is also in duress from dating "the virgin". See it for yourself; it is beautifully written and one of the funniest EVER!

They don't tell you who wins that contest though. Was Jerry or George?

"The Contest" is an episode in which George's mom catches him... in a compromising position with a Glamour magizine. He is telling the gang about this and swears that he is never doing that again. Jerry bets him that he will and Elaine and Kramer get into the contest also to see who can hold out the longest. If you want to know what happens, just ask. But I don't want to ruin it for you in case it actually gets re-ran (they skipped it earlier).

It's an episode contrived by the writers so that they could get some attention and have ANOTHER "classic episode". And it worked.

Does anyone know when the Contest will be repeated?

Okay here it goes :

The Contest is one of the best episodes, if not the best... It all starts off in the coffee shop with Jerry, Kramer and Elaine. In walks George who sits down and begins to recount his story about getting caught masturbating at his parents house by his mother. He then tells them that he is never going to masturbate again, which is met by laughter by the trio. He then bets Jerry that he could last longer than him. Jerry takes him up on the bet (which is $100). Kramer says he wants in on it and so does Elaine but she has to put up more money ($150) 'cause it's easier for a woman not to do it (Apparently). Throughout the episode each drops out of the contest for various reasons, which are:

1.Kramer - he goes out first after seeing a naked lady accross the street.

• Elaine - She is 2nd. She loses after seeing John Kennedy Jr. at her aerobics class.

3. Jerry - He is 3rd to lose. He does so after the Virgin he is dating
           dumps him. He then turns to viewing the naked lady accross the
           street.
4. George -  He wins the contest.
