"Friends" = Diet Seinfeld

I watched "friends" for the first time tonight and the "friends" were watching a naked person across the street and then later one of the "friends" is seen by the rest of the "friends" sitting naked with the naked person across the street. How can anyone watch that show in good conscience? Rupert.

I wonder when that particular Friends episode was written, because it
sounds very much like one of the subplots in "The Contest".

NO not THE contest, he was talking about how kramer george and jerry watch the naked woman accross the street and later they see kramer with her!!!!!

who was the winner of the contest? i always thought that both jerry and george gave in at the same time for that girl. In the scene where everyone is sleeping both jerry and george are awake. In the finale george says he cheated so i just asuumed that tipped the tie so jerry won but then i read a faq that said that george won, so whats the deal?

It's my take that initially, within the context of the episode, George won because Jerry headed over to the window to watch the naked girl across the street after Marla the virgin walked out on him. Later, they showed Jerry sleeping soundly which, as we saw after both Kramer and Elaine bowed out, was an indication that Jerry was no longer 'Master of his Domain'. So George 'won' the contest. Several months later, in "The Puffy Shirt", George confided in his boss at the hand modelling agency that he won the contest. There was still some doubt, as George was certainly not above lying in order to make himself look better in front of a prospective employer, but it still appeared as though George was the rightful winner. Then, of course, in the final episode as the plane is about to crash, George tells the gang that he cheated in the contest. Mystery solved: Jerry won. We can only assume that they *both* 'cheated', but Jerry cheated first.

BTW, which FAQ did you read?

one thing still doesnt make sense, those scenes looking into their bedrooms were private and they would have no reason to stay up if they cheated so they really shoula made one of them fall asleep,

i still think jerry and geroge gave in at the same time to the girl but george also gave in one time in the past which made jerry the winner

Don't you recall the episode when George boasts he is such a good liar (and cheat) that Jerry asks him for a way to *beat* a police lie detector? "Conscience" was the one thing George never let get in his way.

I didn't mangle anything. I saw what I saw. "Friends" is just a mangled version of "Seinfeld", in the first place. Rupert.

Seinfeld has definately influenced Friends. Friends must be big admirers. Off the top of my head, Maggie Wheeler (Janice) and wench from 'The Airport' who plays Phoebe's son's girlfriend have been in both shows. Just a quick point, I remember there being more, but I just can't think of any at the moment.
