Will "The Contest" ever be shown again?

In light of the JFK Jr plane crash, does anyone think they'll quit showing perhaps the most famous seinfeld episode out of respect for the family? I believe they will be spineless enough to...just like the Puerto Rican parade episode.

Oh, no. "The Contest" will air again. John John was portrayed in a positive light there, and there was no one who was offended by his role in the episode, to my knowledge. It may be a while until it airs again though, out of respect for the family.

     Doubt it, although they'll probably wait until spring of 2000 to show it
again out of respect to the family. JFK Jr. was certainly not portrayed in a
negative light in that episode. In fact, he made it clear when he appeared with
Jerry on the Leno show on May 14, 1998 that he'd enjoyed the whole thing, had
seen it not once but several times. People say they even became friends after
"The Contest" first aired. Seems reasonable to me, since there is NO way he'd
have appeared on the same show with Jerry if he hadn't felt that way about him.
You could look at it now as an affectionate, light-hearted memorial. It'll
lend a sort of poignant, nostalgic touch now, to what may have been the 30 best
minutes of comedy television ever produced in America.
     Besides...let's look at how Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David have treated
all the normally sacrosanct aspects of American life over the years, including
our somber and reverent attitude toward death. They've always been as
irreverent as hell. Can't see them changing now...

He has been aired numerous times. I've seen it within the last 2 months. Don't know if they'll air it again, though.

i wish they would play THE friggin' OUTING. it's the only episode i need to tape to complete my collection.

That can be sooo frustrating. I remember when I was one episode away from completing my collection, it was good old #6. "The Ex-Girlfriend". I must have waited 6 solid weeks hoping for that episode to finally air. I guess I had started taping right after they showed it, so it was going to be a while anyway, but I remember the time I checked the 'upcoming syndicated episode' guide and saw it there, boy what a rush. I practically planned my whole week around that half hour.

Now try not to lay awake at night thinking about the power going out halfway through your taping of "The Outing".

I think they will air it again. In no way was JFKJR shown in a bad light. He liked the episode too. There should be no reason that they will not air it again. Gotta go watch Leno.
