Remembering "The Contest" Again

First post. Apologies for errors - geez, people really get uptight about repeated threads, don't they. I wanted to ask if any friends of Seinfeld had ever taken the cue from "The Contest" and actually tried to "abstain" for a set period - with wagering on the line.

As far as I'm concerned, the best part of that episode is that they included Elaine without making her look stupid - and kept it hilarious. As I think I read in the FAQs, this is an all-time favourite for diehards. Unfortunately, after begging my Mum to watch it, that was the first episode she tuned in to, and she was "taken aback" (I think she used the word "gross").

One of my favourite lines:

C.J. Davola: "Would you like to see my dark room?"

Elaine: "Oh, uh, no thanks. uh, I'm a *day* person!"

My second favorite episode was where Elaine seceretly left a pornographic message on Jerry's tape player at a club date of his, a joke on her part.

Of course, "the boys" become obsessed with the message. When Elaine finally tells them that SHE left the message, the look on their faces is a scream.
