9th season "Kramer" Goof

I was at a bar during the repeat of the 9th season premier of Seinfeld, pissed because I had missed the episode in it's first run. For some reason, they treated Seinfeld like they would 'Cops' or a football game as they had the sound muted (or at least it couldnt be heard over the clatter) probably as most of them had already seen it. I tried to follow along with the show and noticed that for a minute, Kramer walks into Jerry's apartment with a moustache!! He leaves for some reason and quickly returned without it. What was the meaning of this? Could they have overlooked it? is this a goof thats already been discussed here? was it some sort of wierd sight-gag for those of us with a quick eye?? reply.

You missed the opening scene.  This was the first episode of the new
season, so we don't get to see what they did during their 'summer', but
it involved 'taking a vacation from themselves'.  Part of this entailed
the three of them growing moustaches.  Jerry and George decided to cut
theirs off but the didn't tell Kramer.  He busted into the apartment and
saw that Jerry no longer had his moustache, then Jerry said something
like "We're not doing that anymore." so Kramer went home to shave his
off.

There is one thing that could easily be mistaken for a goof - he's away for only a few seconds, and shaving off a moustache takes longer than that. It clearly wasn't a goof, and Jerry and George reacts to it, as they both seem surprised when he returns so soon. It's a weird gag, of a type that I can't think of many examples of in the show.

Actually, there are often time-dilation issues on Seinfeld. Notice how sometimes it only takes George or Elaine about 15 seconds to get from the lobby of Jerry's building up to the 4th floor? Every time I see a 'buzz in', I count the seconds until someone walks through the door. It's usually anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds. In a 'real' NYC apartment bldg., 30 seconds isn't even enough time to get to the elevator, much less ride up to 4 and walk down the hall.

My favorite is the 63 seconds it took for Kramer to 'lose' the Contest.
To go from , um, "zero to 60" in just over a minute MUST be a mistake!
For Kramer's sake, please let it be a mistake!!

That is a weird one - Kramer's and premature ejaculation are two things that just don't sound right in the same sentence.

Still, the thing about the shaving scene is that it's so obvious. Cutting down the time it takes to get up to the flat is one thing, but the shaving scene is really strange.

One scene that comes to mind now is one in which they did the opposite. In "The Soul Mate", George left his tape recorder, and there is a great scene afterwards, where George is rewinding the tape - it just goes on and on.

As I remember it, Jerry, George, and Kramer take a vacation from themselves over the summer and all grow moustaches. Then they all shave them off once summer if over. At the beginning Jerry and George had moustaches, too. Did you see that part?

that opening scene was brilliant. the look jerry and george give each other, as if they're in on the joke that we (the audience) knows how ridiculous the mustaches are is gold.
