Was Time Slot bit a Slap at NBC and Others ????

Were the writers and Jerry getting a dig in at either NBC or some of the shows that have followed him ?

I also think the fact that Banya gets an offer from NBC is a knock on the TV executives who decided to give sitcoms to every stand-up comedian after the success of Roseanne and Seinfeld to build a show on their stand-up acts. Especially when Jerry made a comment about 2 of Banya's bits, which seems to be the maximum number of jokes for some of the people who do get shows, but do not transfer to a long running sitcom. As for the episode, I thought it was no better than last season, and like one of the other posts, I will be looking to the reruns in syndication for the great episodes of Seinfeld. Despite the drop in quality from the earlier episodes, Seinfeld is still somewhere in my top 8 current comedies.

The whole storyline was making fun about how any show, funny or not, can be hugely successful as long as it's on after Seinfeld, and then it can go on to become big enough to survive on its own, even without actually being funny ("The Naked Truth", "Fired Up").

Absolutely.  And the way they did it was beautiful.
