Viewers discuss a scene where Kramer runs through New York to get pineapple Italian ice for Bette Midler during a baseball game, debating whether it was a movie spoof and what its purpose was.
In the baseball game where George runs into Bette Midler(sp?) and her understudy (Tanya Harding character) fills in there is a scene with Kramer running to get her Ice Cream - he is running and running through the streets of New York to return to the ball game with the cone. This is a strange scene and nothing becomes of it.
Was it a spoof of another movie? Was he supposed to run into Bette?

Kramer was actually running with pineapple Italian ices. There was no movie spoof...Bette asked him for pineapple to get him out of her hair and the humor came from Kramer running around like an idiot looking for pineapple ices. The scene just served to illustrate Kramer's adoration of Midler. It wasn't anything deep.
P.S. When he finally got the pineapple ices to the injured Midler, they had melted.
Heheh. Remember the one where Kramer was auditioning for the TV Pilot for the character of himself and had to run across town to find an available bathroom? :)

Something DID become of it; she asked Kramer to get her some pineapple italian ice because she knew there was none, and thought he was a stalker and wanted to get rid of him, Then when George flattened her, Kramer brings her the ice, takes care of her and becomes her good friend.
