We all know that in that episode, Elaine was overcome (excuse the pun) with the thought of J.F.K. Jr. and was eliminated from the contest. However, I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that if three guys and one woman had this contest in real life, the woman would win nine times out of ten.......that is, if most guys are like me ;-) Anyone disagree? I agree with the original poster. That's why honestly, I think Kramer's suggestion for Elaine to put up $1000 was reasonable enough. Of course, Kramer wanted her to put up more since his fortitude wasn't as strong as the others, but there's no doubt 10-1 odds in a contest like that is reasonable.

Actually, the contest WAS real. Not the one you saw on the air, of course, but something just like it...the real- life individuals on whom the show is based, once DID get into a "contest" to prove who was "master of his domain," after one of them was 'caught' in similar circum- stances to George with his copy of Glamour Magazine.
Kenny Kramer (Cosmo's real life inspiration) told me last summer that the whole thing happened about 10 years ago, that the contest rules were the same, the circum- stances were essentially similar...only difference is, Larry David (the model for George as well as co-creator of the show) did not win the real-life contest, while on TV it came down to Jerry and George at the end of the episode and George claimed to have won in a later show. Kenny wouldn't tell me who did win. I suppose you could extrapolate logically from what we know and from what the show said, and assume Jerry was the real-life winner. But life doesn't always im- itate art totally...so it'll probably be Kenny's, Larry's and Jerry's secret unless someone chooses to talk.
There are bound to be women out there who would be losers in a contest like this. I think they should post their names and phone numbers right here in this newsgroup.
