who won the "master of your domain" bet?

It was never established who won the $350 between George and Jerry... Did I miss something?

I believe George won the contest. In a later episode, George was selected to be a hand model (I think it was The Low Talker or somet= hing like that). Anyway, his boss said that one of his past models wasn't "master of his domain", and his hand got locked in a certa= in position. After hearing this story, George replyed "Don't worry, I won a contest..."

You are absolutely correct. I don't know how many times I've had to explain this to people. You see, I think Jerry caved because of the naked woman accross the street. This allowed George to take the prize. In the hand model episode George was heard to utter: "Don't worry about me. I won a contest." There you go.

The Contest episode implied that George also caved on the same day that Jerry did. He had gone back to his mother's room in the hospital specifically to watch the gorgeous nurse give the even more gorgeous naked patient a sponge bath from behind the screen ("Hang on, ma!"). This could have had an affect on him since both George and Jerry got restful sleep that night. It wasn't clear till George made his assertion that he had won in The Puffy Shirt and if he and Jerry did agree to a tie - he could still say he won and not be lying.

But even if George had of "succumbed" before Jerry (due largely to witnessing the shadows on the other side of the sheet dividing his mom's hospital room...), this contest was based on the honor system. Would---or COULD---George be honest if he HADN'T been master of his own domain??? He may have won the contest but did he WIN the contest??

I don't think that George is capable of getting away with lying to Jerry. After all, we have already seen how easily Jerry was able to drag the secret that Gary Fogel didn't have cancer out of George. That's why it was feasible for Jerry to propose the honor system.

BUT....... In a subsequent episode where George is a hand model ('The Puffy Shirt' I think ) George does state that he won a contest about refraining from fisting himself after ad execs spook him with a story about the best hand model of all time who fell in love with his hands and basically cuffed himself all day long until his hands were all deformed.

George says it in a "don't worry, I won a contest" kind of way.

It wasn't said during the episode. All we know from "The Contest" is that both of them started sleeping soundly on the same night. However, in a later episode, when George started hand-modeling, his boss tells him of this great hand-model who got 'obsessed with the beauty of his own hands' and met an unfortunate incident during 'that.' George then replies "That'll never happen with me. I won a contest."

So, where does the truth lie? George isn't incapable of lying about a bet to impress someone. But if you think about it, if Jerry and George both caved at about the same time, Jerry would be the first to admit it when the subject next came up. George would just keep his mouth shut and collect the money. So he probably won the bet, if not the contest.
