Jerry must not like Bette Midler. He's certainly shown it, from the way he reacted to Elaine's present once(the collected works of Bette Midler) to the whole softball team thing against her.

Jerry never said he didn't like Bette Midler. He was reluctant to admit that he liked Bette Midler because he didn't want to seem to effeminate (it was the episode where George and Jerry pretended to be gay). Bette used to sing in gay bathhouses in the seventies.
That whole thing was a spoof on the whole Tonya Harding / Nancy Kerringan incident. I realized it when I saw the understudy crying on stage with her leg out begging to be given another shot because her shoe laces were untied (just like in the olympics). The whole thing George knocking out Bette (just like tonyas BF knocking out kerrigan) was setup ingeniously!
