why "the Contest" sucks

Okay, for some reason it has been said that "the contest" is the best episode ever or even deserving to be in the top ten . this is wrong i'm not saying it is not a top rung ep. because it is and the smaller scope of this ep. is something the current writers would do better to go back to. the contest deserves some props (the scene with kramer going to his apartment after seeing the naked neighbor then returning a bit later with money and saying he was out of the contest, for instance, is classic) for being innovative and conducting a whole show about a topic not mentioned directly by name

but it is obvious that this episode has been voted most popular ep. in some polls simply for the reason that it put masturbation (the topic previously never even mentioned in network sitcoms) in the forefront in such a favorable light on 1992 network tv. which would be fine except for the fact that that is not the same as real merit such as the relentlessly entertaining material that hits the exact point in a way that is supremely humorous over and over again consider the whole issue of elaine lusting after Jfk,jr. and how unfunny that was and how badly it ends with jfk,jr. supposedly deflowering jerry's former girlfriend after she left him upon hearing about "the contest"

to me, it just does not have the consistency and precise brilliance exhibited in the real classics like the pez dispenser,the outing,the smelly car,the chinese restaurant, the junior mint, the limo, the library, the marine biologist, the opposite and the subway.

First of all, try using PERIODS and CAPITALIZATION so everyone can figure out what the heck you're trying to say. Also, try to keep your sentences under 200 words, ok? Secondly, when someone says that "The Contest" is one of the best episodes, what they are really saying is that it is one of THEIR favorites, because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and no two people have the same opinions on everything. Some people have said that this episode is one of the best, and you responded with "this is wrong"??!!? What the heck does that mean? A lot of people liked "The Contest" and some people obviously didn't. When someone doesn't agree with your opinion, it doesn't mean they're WRONG, it just means that they have a different opinion. Oh, by the way, the writer of "The Contest" won a major award for best writing in a comedy series. --OJs a liar

Agreed, that was the one weak aspect of the show. But I don't think it was substandard. Merely average.

Agreed. These were all good ones, although I think the Chinese restaurant is far below the level of The Contest. The smelly car is very underrated. It's not one I remember, but find hilarious now that I'm reminded of it. Same with the one about the parking spot.
