Daria question

Beavis and Butthead like to chant to Daria "Diarrhea, cha-cha-cha!" I know where the "diarrhea" comes from, but why is there a "cha-cha-cha"? Beavis and Butthead wouldn't listen or dance to the cha-cha-cha if offered enough money to buy Burgerworld and gold-plate it. Does Daria like to dance to the cha-cha-cha? Are Beavis and Butthead poking fun at the 50's culture that their parents danced to? Or are Beavis and Butthead poking fun at the lack of popularity of headbangable music in Cuba (unless Metallica albums have become as commonplace as U.S. dollars)?

There was an old diarrhea medication commercial, for "Kaopectate" I believe, in which pasty fat gringos get Montezuma's revenge, and then after gulping down Kaopectate, are well enough to dance the "cha-cha" in a congo line. The song of course, was "Diarrhea, cha-cha-cha!"
