Uhh, Sega! Huh-huh.

"Beavis and Butt-head" for the Sega Genesis made it through Sega's approval process in North America and Japan on it's first try - what a relief! That means it's right on schedule for release on or about October 22nd. FYI, it's quite a different game from the Super NES, Game Gear, and arcade versions which are coming out. After spending the last year producing and designing the game, it's nice to have some spare time. By the time we were going final, I was sleeping on the floor of my office and living on take-out Thai food...(see Coupland's "Microserfs" for further information ;)

In regards to the Canadian version of MTV, "Much Music," they have been forced by the CRTC to drop all animation and non-music video broadcasting because it doesn't fit their broadcast license. OK, so I can live with out the "Real World," but if it wasn't for the producers at MTV sending me VHS show composites, I'd never even get to see "Beavis and Butt-head." That truly does suck.

Yeah, I heard about the Sega game too (I believe its being made for SNES too). From what I heard B&B have to go around and find ticket fragments to a GWAR show. I read somewhere that GWAR is actually going to do the music for the game :) I wonder how they're gonna pull it off? I can't wait.. GWAR RULES..THEY RULE!!!!

Yep, it will be for both systems, plus the Game Gear. We're doing a story on B&B for the next issue of FLUX magazine, and I got to play an EPROM of the Sega version. The sound samples are really cool, but the game's terribly hard -- many of the enemies are on top of you before you have time to react (especially skateboards that ram into your shins on many of the levels). You can control either guy, and switch between them at any point in the game. Beavis attacks by belching and Butt-head farts. Visit Burger World, Highland High, Turbo Mall 2000, and other locales. I have YET to find a piece of the shredded tickets (Mr. Anderson runs over them with the lawnmower...but only after his dog has eaten and vomited up the tix). But diehard B&B fans should find it quite cool...

So, in other words, MTV won't be showing anything but commercials, right? ;-)
