I disagree. I think human beings were not designed to be run under internationalism. That's putting too much control into too few hands. Rather, I think nationalism and a good checks-and-balances system between nation based on arms is probably the best way to go. Sure, the Cold War was a tense time, but MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) did keep the peace. As far as the trade idea goes, I agree with that.
And Wilson was *way* too idealistic for my taste. His League of Nations idea was the forerunner of the ideal of "giving the Americans the world and letting them run it". In a way, Henry Cabbot Lodge was correct when he said Wilson was, "no longer Wilson the President, but Wilson the internationalist, hoping to drag America into the abyss of his League of Nations".
