Oh well, I'm sure you can get the point of this post. Too bad this happened in Ohio. It's one of those states that likes to take things to the extreme, especially with Kid's and TV icons like this. You always hear about how some school has banned this or that kinda shirt in Ohio. (I don't mean to offend anyone from there, unless you're a principal or a defense lawyer.)

But of course this is america, so before long we'll be seeing MTV cave in and have Beavis and Butthead: "Hi Beavis. Do you want to help me do my recycle?" "Gee Butthead, what's that?" "It's where we can save the earth's resources." "WOW! That's neat. How can I help? huh huh"

Does the name Mapplethorp ring a bell? What about the artist who wanted to display his picture of Jesus in a vat of urine? And what about Marge Schott, or whatever her name was? Ohio does seem to be in the news alot for things of this sort in the past few years.

The reference to Ohio being prudish is kind of lame, don't you think. Yes now that this has happened you can remember these type of things, but they happen every- where. Where is Jesse Helmes from? In Arizona they do not recognise Martin Lurther King Day. They have strange laws in the South that say what and with whom you can do things (sexual). Who cares where it was. Look at other things in Ohio - Family Ties (uckkkk) was based in Columbus, the psycho killer in _Silence of the Lambs_ was living in a small town in Ohio. A lot of people in tv shows always say they are from Ohio - Ohio is not called the most American state for nothing you know. It is kind of at the crossroads for heading west. And yes I am from Ohio - a small town in the coal country of SouthEastern Ohio (Athens in fact). In fact I am proud to be a Ohioian - the people are by far more friendly than those that I have met in NY (especially Rochester - hell, you would be angry too if you had to live in this climate!! :).

Seriously, no I don't have bar graphs and all that crap, but I have heard a LOT on the news over the past few years about this and that in ohio. Maybe it's just they get more coverage.
