MTV sucks. Every month there seems to be a Real World marathon. What is real about a bunch of stupid, arrogant, self centered butt holes who can't get along a lousy few months. They even run that Daria chick once in a while. She started on B-N-B. I went to the MTV website, searched for B-N-B and got nothing but a mention on another show. Now what ? They don't want to even acknowledge that the show existed. There has got to be one hour a week where they could sacrafice to have a change from the same run around.
Why no B-N-B ?

They were like, "Uh, we only want to show videos with black people in them only if they're acting like dumbasses and partying and stuff, but you scared us by posting our names and getting us bad press, so we'll play it so you go away."
So, you should, like, get all pissed off and call the execs and maybe they'll play BnB on MTV2 a few times. "Dammit! You only want to show shows that are dumb! You're always making people look dumb with your mine-less shows! Like, what are you afraid of? Show some Beavis and Butt-head! Aaarggh!"

Jackass is much more controversal than B&B. IMO, MTV won't show B&B because MTV nowadays caters to the teenyboppers. I hear people saying that MTV only cares about money. Well, if MTV cared about money then they would be showing their older shows (it's not like MTV has a large library of shows which they don't).
MTV is full of shit. MTV knows that they (MTV) would make good money if they show B&B reruns again. It's just that MTV doesn't want to show B&B reruns anymore.

Sad really they would even do so. Only liked it the very first time they aired it because they hyped it up so much with letterboxing it and showing off a deleted scene that was never placed on the DVD at all.

In the case of Headbangers' Ball, it was MTV not wanting to do anymore of it, so they gave Rikki Rachtman the pink slip and said "bye forever!" (wonder whatever happen to Rachtman these days?) And yet, they'll probably never bring back Headbangers' Ball at all.
Liquid TV and Aeon Flux were exceptions as they were one of those programs that MTV left linger on some odd timeslot like early weekend mornings. I only enjoyed Liquid TV because of the brief excursions it did with letting those viewers that did tune in get a taste of what else could be done in animation. Not that many have been able to make it to any of those animation film festivals to watch them or not, but it helped me out as a "shut-in" during my teen years.
Such a shame MTV also dropped their old animated ID bumpers as well, used to be what they did before Liquid TV when they gave animators the opportunity to create such interesting and creative 10-second mini-masterpieces.
Again, the way standards have changed is the cause of it all. Ten years back, a cartoon about 15-year olds who would play with fire, take drugs and watch TV 24/7 was controversal. These days, it has gone beyond what was acceptable a decade ago (especilaly with TV ratings eventually becoming a standard in '97).
For most of MTV's history, they hardly had any shows at all for the first decade of it's life. The only few examples I can bring up are Remote Control (the first game show for the network) and perhaps any of the music-related specials and programs they did have during the period. It wasn't untill Liquid TV when they started on doing TV shows like Real World, The State, MTV Sports, Dead at 21, and anything else I can't think of right now.
Only wish they would consider syndication or show them on another network. I wouldn't mind losing the music videos if the rights to those have expired.
Only a shame the recent "History of B&B" DVD was recalled for simular copyright reasons. Would've bought it for getting possibly the last of the episodes that will be released on home video (don't want to bother with the TimeLife releases since I have those tapes anyway).
