PROPOSAL: alt.tv.beavis-n-butthead.binaries

There needs to be a newsgroup where beavis and butthead binaries are welcome. I suggest alt.tv.beavis-n-butthead.binaries rather than alt.binaries.beavis-n-butthead because alt.binaries.* tends to get too much spam. (please send replies to alt.config only to help start this group)

I have already created said group. If enough people follow up to this post, I will send an RMGROUP message and re create it under the alt.binaries heirachy. Assuming the first one gets created at all. I created the alt.tv...binaries because I hear some ISPs are rather short sighted and they won't carry the alt.binaries groups at all because they think that they are just porno groups.

If you sent the newgroup, the group was definitely created. It's a matter of whether or not sites decide to carry it. Chances are that they won't because binaries groups are meant to be placed within alt.binaries.

Sites that don't carry binary groups choose to do so because they are taxing on the server (all those posts in all those groups are so damn big, and they have to get stored somewhere).

Binaries groups belong in the alt.binaries.* hierarchy. Yes, they will get a decent amount of spam. Web pages don't get spam, and can hold a lot of pictures...

Sorry about that, alt.tv.binaries ahould be a good hierarchy. Keep the .beavis-n-butthead part at the end and we can hide from spammers

Definitely no, all binary groups need to be under alt.binaries or comp.binaries otherwise it makes it impossible for news admins to keep track of the hbinary groups.

That should cut out the spam and the trolls, but I guess you're right.

Uhh, I guess that's a bad thing for spreading binaries then.

I'm guessing that alt.binaries.moderated.beavis-n-butthead would work. The main thing is to have a moderator bot canceling spam and trolls.
