how to view gifs?

how can i save those gifs to my hd so that i can view them with a gif viewer? if i read the article it reads something like "lksajf;lsjfie0247544" ad infinitum.

First you have to uudecode the file. You can get uudecode from many places, I got mine from ftp.utas.edu.au, but I'm sure there's one closer (its in /pc/dos/util/uudecode, and the gif (and other) viewers are in /pc/dos/util/viewers/still. If you are on a Unix system, just type uudecode <file> and then use your favorite viewer (imagetool, xv, whatever), they should be there.
