censoring

I may be slow in noticing this, but ya know that episode where they're watching "Barney" on TV? Well, I'm pretty sure when I first saw this episode and Barney reached in to get the cake out of the oven, they showed him on fire, and now they have a lame "Technical Difficulties" on the cartoon TV screen. Am I right about this, or did I breath too much stove gas?

The way it used to go is that they'd show 'Barney' getting the cake out, then the flames get him, and he screams for the kids to help. The technical difficulty screen is shown, and the dialogue goes like:

BH: Cool! B: (raises right hand) Fire! Fire! Fire! Fire! <laughter> BH: Don't bogart my log, dude!

That explains why Beavis's hand comes up in the censored version for no apparent reason.

Yea, when he grabbed the pie, he pulled it out and there were flames shooting out of his fingers, then they cut to the "Technical Difficulties" screen, and Beavis laughed and went FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE, then Butthead grabbed the cookie dough (or whatever it is) from Beavis. They kinda lengthed the technical dificulties screen and cut out Beavis saying FIRE. :( This was done when they said there'd be no more references to fire, although they still say it on Eating Contest, when they're watching the David Lee Roth video, they show him walk in a room with Michael Jackson and Beavis screams fire a couple times.
