Recently, someone told me that I remind them of Daria . Should I take it as a compliment ? I am too impoverished to have cable, so I am not familiar with her character. Can anyone fill me in?

people say im like daria too. daria is a pessimistic, low self esteem girl who speaks in monotone and is quite smart. she used to be on b&b (aka diarrhea) but now she has her own show. -charlotte

She's a very intelligent high school honor student who is not very popular with her peers, but doesn't care. She makes a lot of sarcastic wisecracks, which are usually wasted on people too dumb to understand them.

Beavis and Butt-head try to taunt her by calling her "Diareah" but she doesn't get upset because she knows that B&B are total morons.

In an episode of her own spin-off series, a test showed that she had low self-esteem. Daria said, "I have high SELF-esteem. I just have low esteem for everyone else." Considering the stupidity around her, that's fully justified.

Thanks everyone for answering my post. Any other discussion group would have defamed and flamed me for admitting ignorance and asking a question. But you guys are OK! I do look like her and I am a student (in college), so I guess it was a compliment to be called Daria. She'll go on my list of heros, right after Xena and Wonder Woman. Thanks again!
