Beaver and Buffcoat

Is it just me, or does anyone else laugh their ass off whenever Mike Judge rips on that one guy who like makes laws and stuff who was lecturing everyone about how bad "Beaver and Buffcoat" are? It's like, he doesn't even know their names, but he's qualified to preach to everyone about how evil they are. I've seen two episodes where they've had someone call them Beaver and Buffcoat - Anderson says it in "Pool Toys" and Gus Baker says it in "Right On." I just thought it was really funny.

It's actually even funnier when you see the video of the original statement. It was made by Senator Ernest Hollings (D-South Carolina), who has one of the worst white-man-from-the-ole-South accents I have ever heard, in some statement or hearing concerning violence and crime. His quote was similar to:

"An' ya got this heeaah violence on that there MTV, you know, Beaver and Buffcoat, or whatever, that's puttin' our skooolchillun' at risk..."

Another quote of his that I laugh at is a commentary he made on the economy when inflation was starting to pick up:

"Theya's just too much damn consoooomin' goin' on out theya...."

Hollings has a way of saying things that makes the most serious of statements laughable.

You forgot the part where Fritz said that he doesn't watch it, but that he's sure that it's the kind of thing that should be done away with.

Oh, and in the Beaver and Buffcoat vein, there's the guy from the Christian Businessmen's Coalition who refers to them as "Beavis and Butter."

Don't forget that mean dude (Earl?) calling them "Beaver and Butt-Plug"
