A lot of times, they'll be sitting at the couch, and Butthead will have brown sort of poofy hair. Then they'll cut out and back and he'll have DARK brown slick back hair and a different facial look. From, apparently, really early on.
Then they'll use that scene where Beavis used to say "Fire! Fire! Fire!" for "Liar" and "Peek-a-boo!" and "Bonoducci! Bonoducci! Bonoducci!"
So it looks like a LOT of the couch clips are used over and over again, anyone concur?
They re-use couch scenes, dance scenes, room scenery, you name it, it gets recycled. That's called cutting costs. :)

At least they don't re-use couch scenes in perhaps my favorite episode, "True Crime" - even during the video sequences, the stacks of cash are all over the living room. I thought that was cool that they actually drew up new animations for once when they're watching videos.
I recently saw some first-season reruns.... Butthead's look keeps changing. Sometimes his eyes are small and you see his gums and his lower lip is straight. Sometimes during videos though, his eyes are larger (but the same shape), and his braces are darker, and his mouth is in a drooling-type shape (that look sucks.) One he even changed from one look to the other right on screen: (small-eyes) This sucks. (large-eyes as he whips out remote), ZZT.
