Who's Smarter : SOLVED!

There can no longer be any doubt as to who is smarter:

Beavis or Butthead.

This weekend I went to Circuit City (because it was raining

and huge electronics stores are always a good source of

entertainment on crummy days), and they had one of those new

Apple Computer Newton thingies....

A friend and I were experimenting with it....

Using a special "pencil" you write words on the screen and it

tries to recognize them and translate them into type-written

text.... well, the problem is that Newton is a complete and

total piece of crap, and it never gets the translation right.

After several minutes of feeding it famous quotations that it

massacred I wrote, in the neatest of handwriting, BUTTHEAD.

	The Translation ...........

Brilliant

well, I guess that settles it then...

You were probably one of those people who tried to get Newton to recognize your name right off the bat not being intelligent enough to realize that Newton bases it recognition on words, not idividual letters. Newton displays make me cringe, becuase it is designed to "learn" the users handwriting, not 10,000 customers handwriting. The poor display Newton's are probably confused by now and that's why they aren't working as well as they good. Give Newton a chance...its a great product.

would be simple and common enough for Newton to recoginize.

When it came out with something ridiculous like 'toad' I

figured it was hopeless. It was good for some laughs though....
