New Epsiode

	The new episode kicked ass!  I loved "You know what they need more
of on MTV?  Fat people!"  "Yeah, fat people are cool!"  It was good to see
primus.  I wish they'd shown a few more videos.  It was great to watch
B&BH rip on Vince Neil and Bon Jovi.
	The animation does seem to have improved a bit, but I don't hink
it adds anything.

      Yes, the new episode was fantastic.  I was getting tired of watching
  reruns for several months.  The only disappointing aspect of the new
  B&B was the animation.  I felt that the animation was a bit flimsy, compared
  to the older graphics.  When I saw the new animation scenes, my first
  impression was that Mr. Judge (the creator of B&B) sketched his characters
  (namely Beavis & Butthead) in a hurried attempt to produce new episodes.
      Oh well!  I still loved the new episodes, despite the slightly
  revised animation scenes!!!!  "8^)

I definitely noticed that BH was not being "nice" to Beavis.

It seemed every minute Beavis would say something and BH would never agree or laugh about it.

The original B&B episodes had a stylish low-rent look to go along with the low-rent, white trash protagonists. The "new, improved" B&B looks like it was drawn in a far East animation sweatshop, with as much style as a Saturday morning toy-commercial cartoon.

Maybe B&B don't want to show up Speed Racer (which follows them at 7 pm)?

hey, don't forget about the simpsons! if you get a chance, take a look at some older (first season, and when they were on the tracy ulman show) simpsons episodes. the animation was decidedly "low-rent" compared to the recent stuff. and i don't think it hurt a bit.

the problem i had with the new B&B tonight was that half the time, during the music video segements, i couldn't HEAR them! they seemed to have mixed the music up more in these, which kinda defeats the purpose.

beavis: (grabbing his chest) "my liver! my liver!" butthead: "lower, dude!" beavis: "oh yeah" (grabs his crotch) "my liver! my liver!"

Frankly, the mechanics, color, and mixing are not what have me concerned. I think that there might be signs of an impending fallout between our two hero's. Since I went to school with several B&B wanna-bes, I now how these relationships go.

Did anyone think that Butt-head was more critical of Beavis in this new show?

BH:"uhh-hhuhh you're the expert Beavis" ---

During Vince Neil crap:

B: "Fire! Fire! Fire" BH: "Shut up beavis! just because a video has fire in it doesn't mean it is cool!"

You're right -- I got used to the Simpsons, and I'll get used to Beavis & Butthead's new look. They haven't changed the title sequence, so I still get a chance to see B&B in their original glory.

Looking at the credits of tonight's show, I saw *five* writers listed. Beavis and Butthead has probably become one of Texas' leading employers. Considering how little dialogue there is in an episode, it sounds like a cushy job. Maybe I should submit my current favorite idea, where Beavis and Butthead go to France and discover bidets.

Are they still computer-animating BnB? I noticed that a couple of the "old" shows were definitely done by a computer: you could see the jaggies or pixels quite plainly when they decided they needed a close-up and didn't bother to redraw it, they just zoomed in on the animation itself.

See, for example, the episode where Daria comes into to one of their rooms to discuss the science project. The close up of Daria in the doorway is pretty obvious.

So what sort of improvement was supposedly made? I saw different colors, etc. I also saw a shot of them stage diving in the living from the old animation. The wall and couch are different colors in that scene.

Yea, they also showed them thrashing (is that what you call it?) when they shake their heads up and down while playing air guitar, that looked like from last season. I also noticed the fire looks a lot brighter than before, kinda like it does on Ren and Stimpy (The Great Outdoors and A Visit To Anthony to be specific, it's real bright on those 2 episodes)

I think the answer is no. If you watch the closing credits I believe you will no longer find the name USAnimation which was computer animating the first batch. I heard from a friend that consults there (USAnimation) that they (whoever they are) took their animation business oversees to Korea.
