The Brothers Grunt is actually a pretty cool show, if you give it a chance. You just have to let it grow on you. Even Beavis and Butthead took some getting used to at first - the way they laughed was really annoying in the beginning.
I'm surprised how everyone seems to violently despise TBG in this newsgroup. C'mon people, open your minds - you have to have the courage to change (oh God, I'm starting to sound like Bill Clinton). After watching the same Beavis and Butthead episodes umpteen thousand times, a new show like the Brothers Grunt is like a breath of fresh air. It's kinda fun to learn all their names and identify them, as well as their unique grunting noises. When Frank grunts, he acts constipated and bites his lower lip. Tony just kind of "aahhhs" and "ohhhs" and sounds moronic in general.
In my opinion, the progression from Beavis and Butthead to Brothers Grunt is very logical, in an evolutionary sense of things. Think about it - the premise of Beavis and Butthead is that they're stupid, illiterate, etc. It's only natural for their successors to go one further, to out-stupefy the already stupid. Thus we have the Grunts - they aren't just post-literate, they're post-verbal as well. They make Beavis and Butthead look like intellectual giants.
My only complaint with TBG is the quality and selection of music videos that get played. Whereas Beavis and Butthead videos are usually watchable, Brothers Grunt videos are esoteric to the extreme - I don't recognize 80% of the songs.
So, like, free your minds, or something! Uh, lose your hangups. Whatever.
