REQ: B & B-H MPEGs

I have been thinking about trying out some of the video capabilities of my Quadra 840av by digitizing some of the better parts of B&B from the first season (cool videos, paint-sniffing, FIRE! etc.) and posting them on our anonymous FTP site. Problem is that the QuickTime movies are so damn big (10 megs+ for a minute of sound/video), and I haven't put enough effort into finding a compression utility if there is one. If any of you out there with Mac AV machine can give me some help on this, I could get a few QuickTime movies up in the next couple of weeks possibly. I don't know anything about MPEG though, is that a Windoze thing?

Actually I don't think a cartoon would take up that much space... but then again, cartoon gifs on Walt have been 100k+... i suppose it's because of that teeny bit of static that somehow makes it to your TV through cable, it prevents you from getting pure solid colors. (Look close at some pic off Walt. In fact, look close at the TV.)

I think that much space could be saved on Walt if someone re-touched the pics there to take up less space by making solid colors. Perhaps by converting it to a low-quaolity jpeg and converting it back.

By doing this, a minute of video could be cut down to a meg or so.
