breakfast burritos

Continuing the multi-cultural thing here... I think the joke *is* that there are eggs in the burritos at Stewarts house, but it's funny because breakfast burritos suck in general. It's not really a health food thing...since there's not much difference health-wise between egg burritos and "regular" burritos...It's just that there's been a break- fast burrito explosion in the fast food chains over here in the U.S. and I was wondering if they were popular or even heard of in Europe. Is there any other humour that isn't quite caught over there?

Burritos aren't very popular over here, in fact I don't even know exactly what they're made of (I heard the word for the first time on B&B). They might be more widespread in the southern parts of the continent.

How much of the humour in B&B one gets depends strongly on how much one knows about the American culture. I suppose that's why the show is not that big in France (maybe that's why they had to dub it in French, and I doubt it will succeed any better anyway) or other countries where English is not widely spoken. On the other hand, in Northern Europe, and in the UK and the Netherlands the show is pretty popular, and in those countries people not only speak English widely, but also are exposed to a lot of Americanisms, with all those (undubbed) TV shows, movies etc. that we get over here.
