Oh, let's look at the post above from said WebTV user: poor grammar, ALL CAPS, excessive use of exclamation points, immature ranting, liberal use of profanity, just plain ignorant statements, and doing absolutely nothing to back up your points.

Maybe there's a perception that all WebTV users are a bunch of idiots because there appear to be a good number of WebTV users whose posts serve as perfect examples of this idiocy (see above). Stereotypes don't exist unless there is SOME basis in reality; unfortunately a significant portion of the posts I see originating from the webtv.net domain show signs of stupidity, banality, misinformation, immaturity, and (in some cases) just plain cluelessness.

I suggest to you, Tennille Jensen, that the nature and content of your posts only provide more fuel on the fire to the stereotype that WebTV users are idiots. Please think about it.

PS -- you knocked AOL in your last post. Granted, they too went through a phase of being branded the "cradle of village idiots" of USENET and the Internet (anyone remember "me too"?). But it appears AOL has taken great pains to try to educate their members in being responsible net users and I think it's showing in the overall behavior of their users -- it's much better now (though there still are occasional exceptions).

I have broadband access to the Internet on a Pentium machine. Why on earth would I be jealous of someone with a typewriter connected to their television-set? The logic of the statement eludes me.
