MTV are fucking hypocrites

I dont get MTV at all, they played the movie Do America and they didnt edit out the fire references. Then why the hell did they ban the word fire and anything to do with it? I don't get them at all. - matt

Maybe they just showed the movie because it was very successful and to shut us up.

That might be the reason. Though most of the time they seem to do late night mini-marathons anyway.

Thinking about it, doesn't MTV have the right to play any other film they have produced as well, like Joe's Apartment? Didn't know if they do, since I don't watch this channel anymore. I wish my cable company got M2.

It seems MTV (actually Viacom as a whole because VH1 does it too during the day) is trying to phase out not just the rock music but the rock culture (e.g. replacing shows like B&B with shows like Undressed). Why? Don't ask me. Why not make us all happy and play rock AND rap AND r&b AND pop AND country AND polka? And don't try to force people to acculturate.

MTV & Nickelodeon (sadly MTV is becoming more and more like Nickelodeon which is becoming more and more like cartoon network - my 11-yr-old teenybopper sister's nickelodeon is different from mine) make rock look "uncool", and MTV says its "old" and "uncool". I remember i think it was 1998 the year in review. They said "For almost a decade it was either (some negative comment I dont remember) rock or (another negative comment I dont remember) rap, but now teens have something positive they can listen to", followed by what I think was the video for the Britney Spears song with the catholic school girls.

And VH1 makes hard music look responsible for violent riots and the deaths at Columbine.

Forget M2. MTV-X is the channel that you want. Rock videos are played 24/7, with out the interuption of useless shows like Road Rules and teeny bopper garbage. It's the way MTV was meant to be. It's pretty much all I watch right now, and it makes paying $80 a month for digital cable well worth the investment.

Is B&B still on MTV every now & then? Did not watch MTV from 1997-1999 after the B&B are dead episode was over. Turned on MTV during 1999 for B&B & Celebrity Deathmatch after I saw it listed in my local tv guide but stopped watching MTV after the B&B reruns were cancelled during 1999. Haven't seen MTV in over a year & don't plan to watch MTV anymore. IMO, i agree with you that MTV purposely shows great shows such as B&B, etc after midnight so that the shows are cancelled because of bad ratings. I look at the schedule of MTV in my local tv guide looking for B&B & all I see is too many episodes of Real World, Road Rules, Undressed,etc. I would love to see B&B episodes. no the show itself has not aired since summer of 99 when they had the last moron-a-thon after the world's most dangerous episodes and the movie premiered on mtv. although the movie gets shown every few months and was on sunday, which I think is ridiculous to show it and not the show - matt

It is ridiculous that MTV never shows the B&B episodes anymore but they have time to show the movie. I saw in my local tv guide that Beavis & Butt-head Do America was shown on MTV on Sunday Dec. 10 at 8:00 pm. I would love to see the episodes of B&B. I won't watch the B&B movie on MTV because I own it on DVD & I watch it whenever I want to. The movie is good but we need episodes on MTV & not constant episodes of Real World, Road Rules, Undressed, etc. I don't watch MTV but I look at their schedule every now & then for B&B episodes but I don't see them.
