i live in south houston, supposedly in the area where mike judge has lived before, and i suspect that his exposure to the "bible belt" may have had some influence on epichoad subject matter. in houston, there are a large amount of tele-churches that are small models of jim bakker and jimmy swaggart's type of money sucking enterprises.
as for the epichoad where the dude claimed to be god, that was based solely on the waco incident where david koresh (sp?) thought he was the almighty one while his buttload of wives spanked his monkey for him.
anyone else have any ideas on the often-reference to religion and religious figures. uh, by the way, i said sucking.
