I found the "Pulp Fiction" reference!

Remember all the discussion that went on as to whether or not "getting Medieval on your ass" was a reference to the film "Pulp Fiction"? Well, most likely it is, but quite a few people pointed out that the expression was used on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 before the film came out. I found the episode in question this weekend while I was going through my tapes. It appears in MST3K #620, "Danger!! Death Ray." Tom Servo says it when Agent Fargo drags one of the unconscious bad guys into the closet. Hope that answers some questions.

To add a bit more - I do not think that MST3000 is responsible for this saying - my peers used it in highschool, the mid 80's, and whether MST was around or not is irrelavent - we had no cable. I do not know where it came from, but definetly not Pulp F. - actually, the phrase is used twice that I know of. You probably know this. Mannix

It was also used in the movie "Red Dawn."

Although in B&BH it's likely a reference to Pulp Fiction, I was trying to correct the rumor that the phrase originated from that film. Thanks for the info.

Actually it was me. Let me take this chance to say "I told you!" =) I don't know what the saying's origin before MST3K is though...
