Seattle

Anyone know the significance of Seattle? I've seen the city referenced in a few episodes as the place "where, like, everything is cool!"

There are only 2 good groups from seattle and the kick ass. They are Queen sryche and Heart. Alice in chains is ok. All the rest suck big time especially Nirivana and Pearl Jam they are pathetic noise makers.

Isn't Metallica from Seattle also? I think I saw it in a rockumentary. They didn't dwell on the Seattle part because it was recorded before all these cool bands started their wave of destruction on against all that sucks!

Dammit!!!! What the hell is this crap??!! How many times do I have to say this: I hate peole who feel the need to correct every little misspelling in every little post? Tigger, why don't you go work out some of that pent up energy and become an english TA? Then you can correct all of the mispellings you find so appalling to your heart's content. Geez, if there is anywhere you can mispell words, it should be on the Beavis and Butthead network (heh heh m heh heh. Words suck!)

BTW: It's kind of funny. I go the exact opposite with the Seattle bands. Alice in Chains and Nirvana kick ass. I like Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. Temple of the Dog kicked ass. I never heard of "sryche" (sp?) but Heart Sucks!!

There are plenty of capitalization and punctuation errors, but I didn't notice any misspellings except for "the kick ass," which should be regarded as a typo, and "Nirivana." It looks as if "Queensryche" got chopped somewhere. The message hardly deserved a spelling flame.

I'd just like to say to everyone out there that this whole Seattle thing is getting right out of hand. Does it matter where a good band comes from as long as their music kicks ass big time. Pearl Jam are the best band in the whole world, let alone Seattle. Tj

I'm sorry, but I beg to differ about Pearl Jam being the darlings of the music world.

It pisses me off that Seattle is "the Mecca of the alternative music world". So Eddie Vedder has become the 1994 answer to Jim Morrison. Big fat f*king deal! Corporate rock has dipped their grubby little hands into the indie market (not to mention eMpTy Television and that *annoying* Bee Girl from Blind Melon!) and alternative or "grunge" music has become an joke and a travesty in the least!

I'm not by any means right, (and it's not a flame to you personally, TJ) but I so sick of hearing of Pearl Jam or any of these sorry groups being "the best." What is "the best" about them? That Eddie Vedder can mumble gibberish or act like an epileptic on stage? That Evan Dando of the Lemonheds is nothing more than a poster poseur and can't play music worth a fuck?

That's why I'm a straightedge, indie album buying punk/hardcore rocker who couldn't care less about hippie, feel-good bands! Give me that ol' time Ramones or Minor Threat or Fugazi anytime!
