Letter writing campaign to MTV to get B&B back on the air

I just though of an idea to try to get Beavis & Butt-head back on the air. It's really sad that MTV hasn't shown any B&B episodes in almost 2 years. What we need to do as true B&B fans is to tell MTV that we want to watch B&B episodes. My idea is to have people write to MTV & tell them that we want B&B back on the air.

Please pass this information to people you know so that B&B may come back. Remember, do not threaten MTV in your letter because this may hurt out chances. Writing to MTV seems like the only way to get B&B back on the air because they haven't shown B&B episodes in almost 2 years.

Sadly, I agree with you. Instead of just "sitting" on the B&B series, it sure would be nice if they would go ahead an sell the rights to someone else....like the Comedy Channel....or someone! dammit@!

Maybe we could all photocopy a whole bunch of nickels and start up the "Butt Channel" Then make MTV an offer for the BnB episodes.

Actually that would kinda be a good idea. Make a channel called "Rock" with not only rock music and news but rock culture (a.k.a. B&B). Viacom could set one up (and don't complain about losing money they just won't gain much if theyre even right about whats popular). It'll rule!

I like your enthusiasm, but it wouldn't work for several reasons:

1: MTV plain sucks now, and would never be able to fit it in between beach parties and Kurt Loder trying to be cool.

2: MTV owns all the rights to BnB. Mike Judge can command a higher salary with the success of King of the Hill, and I doubt MTV would pay it (I think this actually happened).

3: IF MTV did BnB on their own (without Judge) they would dick it up beyond belief. Look at that abonination "Daria" for reference.

The best thing would be for Judge to buy all the rights and then start doing BnB on his own, like King of the Hill. There are enough BnB fans that he would make back his money. But - MTV is run by such a bunch of adolescent PC bastards that they would probably refuse to sell to him.

If anyone is selling their old episodes of Beavis and Butthead, I'd gladly pay for them (when they were on, I was living with my parents and my father hated them to the point where I had to sneak into the living room and watch them, so taping episodes was out of the question).

I agree here. Especially since I don't even watch MTV anymore, and I know the kind of s--t they air these days for the kind of people they've created out of the mold a couple years ago.

Though the series is also owned majorly by Viacom International (which pretty much owns a slew ot other TV/radio networks, including the familiar National Amusements theatre chain). They would never sell the show to anyone else. This is also the same situation to those to wonder about South Park's legabilities (though Viacom half-owns the show with Comedy Central's other owner's, AOL/TimeWarner).

Personally, the best Viacom should've done was to put out a Special Edition release of Beavis & Butt-Head Do America, with that supposive deleted scene that only got aired on MTV once some years back, and perhaps a director's commentary with Judge.

I kinda noticed that, though Daria was not a Mike Judge creation as many of us have been told in the past. Still, I agree with the issue over Daria's longevity on the air.

That would be a good idea if he did. Kind of a shame if Judge might not be able to buy it back if MTV said "no". I especially don't like King of the Hill personally, as well as his attempted at live-action direction on Office Space.

Sounds like MTV is going ot have the property fade into obscurity, along with other progams they've aired in the past...

How many people even bother to WATCH MTV anymore? All they ever show is that N Sync and Backstreet Boys crap. Besides, MTV is now to PC to show B&B.

Pretty much they air the movie periodically, I've saw it a few months ago as well. Pretty much another use of average weekend filler for the network.

Personally, I wish they played it on Comedy Central, that way, they can take off that stupid Sportsnight series and replace it with BnB all the way!
