I was just thinking. Whenever someone replies to a troll, they're usually told not to do it with a message that's posted to the newsgroup. Wouldn't it be better if a general E-mail warning were written up, then sent via private E-mail to the person who responds to the troll? Since the warning, itself, might also encourage the troll, sending it with E-mail keeps the troll from seeing it, and stops it dead in its tracks. Just a thought.

interesting idea. i don't know how many here use ie4 but I finally figured out how to use the "killfile" (ie... Newsgroup Filters). just click on tools, newsgroup filters, add, then type the troll's name in the From line and you're done. this will automatically remove the troll's name from all ng's or a specific ng. so far mine works great. the only drawback in when sombody replys to a troll you will see for example.... Re: Trey & Matt are HOMO idiots. the best thing to do is killfile them and do not reply. i know it's easier said than done, sometimes them morons really piss me off and i really really want to reply. i just resist the urge the best i can. trolls are easy to spot and when you do, killfile em'. i noticed that the idiot Kara1talis (aka Yakanoh211) have stopped with the inane postings. killfiling and ignoring them works every time. if someone does respond to a troll instead of privately emailing them, just respond to the troll and do like Toni does, she uses DEAD THREAD for the header. when this is seen, take heed and post no further. if we regular users of this ng do the aforementioned, this should clear up the problem. when trolls do not receive ANY heat they will disappear.
