april fools episode...Can you guys possibly whine any more??

I guess once again it's proved how fickle the american audience can be. It's quite amusing to read the group and see people who constantly bash the people that would put down southpark, now turning into rabid southpark haters, 'lets boycott comedy central!!"

Just one simple question: Are you mad at Comedy Central, Trey and Matt, for lying to you...or are you mad because you fell for an April Fool's joke??

Let's look at the past history, shall we?

1. Episode 113 ends with a HUGE question, "Who is Cartman's father? is it so and so or is it so and so?" giving that soap opera feeling...then we're blasted with "The answer is coming in an all-new Southpark!....in just four weeks"...that right there should have sparked some sort of idea...they build you up like mad then slam you to the floor..

2. Comedy Central's schedule page listed the episode as "April fools episode" Right there, plain as day.."april fools"

3. Before the show even airs...the press on CC is maddening..."Find out the answer to who is cartman's father...more important than who shot JR"

4. And by far the most important...and I know a lot of you are going to be upset...Season one of southpark is OVER!! Season two doesn't start until June

Then the show airs..wham! April fools!

Now granted...not everyone knows the scheduling of southpark or visits the site...but there were so many underlying tones that basically should have been obvious that we are not going to learn cartman's father...as for myself, i didn't believe for an instant they were going to tell us for the simple fact that it would screw up the whole plotline of southpark...MR garrison calling Cartman 'son' during class?? Chef calling cartman's "sons"...it just wouldn't fit...the only way imho that would have worked is that if they find out and then that character disappears.

Personally, I like the T&P special...i doubt that it will be in rotation with the other episodes..but come on! Saddam was hilarious, especially when you think that he sounds just a bit like cartman. Scott was funny, and I almost died with the whole "Ugly Bob" thang...

In conclusion...get it all out of your system, because you know come June, you'll all be watching Southpark like it never happened...and if not, that's okay, cuz Matt and Trey will still be rolling in the cash with or without your viewer support. Sucks, I know, but that's showbiz.

I, for one, laughed out loud at the running "Ugly Bob" gag. And quite frankly, the Celine Dion jokes weren't all THAT different from treatments of Barbra Streisand and Kathie Lee in "regular" SP episodes. What is wrong with you people?? It's still Trey & Matt, fer chrissake.

All "Canadians" looked exactly like T+P, whereas all "Americans" looked like regular SP characters?

I don't think that Terrence and Phillip arevery funny-- even as satirical statements. Whenever T&P make an appearance on the show I stop laughing. They are very sobering because its BORING!

South Park rules, but Matt and Trey ought to be shot for putting that piece of trash on as an April Fool's joke. At least I wasn't dumb enough to watch the entire episode. As soon as I realized what they were up to I changed the station.

I appreciate a good joke, but they should have come up with something that was FUNNY!

Well put, although I do hope they keep the episode in regular rotation - I thought it actually was kind of funny.

Does anyone else think that Matt and Trey put Scott in to represent all of the whiners we're seeing now who hate Terrance and Phillip? :)
