Beeping "Fuck"

Another Question: South Park is on broadcast T.V. in Canada, so the word "Fuck" is beeped out. Do they beep out this and other nasties on Comedy Central?

But I guess were a little more liberal about what we don't beep out.

Aren't the fucks bleeped out by the southpark people, not the stations? I know they were on the alien episode.

'm still amazed that they kept in "asshold" thats a major word they never let go on the air before South Park. It's weird.

amd "goddaamn" which is always bleeped out. usually they bleep out half of the word, the "god" half.. sorta funny, really.

Took the words right out of my mouth. NYPD Blue has used the word asshole numerous times, though I'm not sure if they've ever said anything worse than that.

It really all depends how it's used, I mean, Kenny can say fuck, he does, in the Mr. Hankey episode, he says "That is the sickest thing I've ever fuckin' seen." when Kyle shows then the crap at the bus stop, sometimes the Bleep shit and stuff...Which kinda sucks, we've all heard it about 10000 time...gimme a break FCC...

Ok, if that's true, what about the Death episode where Terrance say "you're such an asshole, Phillip" when Kyles mom does her traditional "Wha wha whaat? They didn't beep that out! I think that the FCC has been pretty generous to South Park and has let them get away with a lot of f**king shit. I wonder if the FCC would censor any nudity if any appeared on the show. Now there's a question.

Not true. NYPD Blue was the pioneer for language and partial nudity on network tv. And cable has always had more freedom for this stuff than network so they really were pushing the limits. Things like asshole, douche bag, son of a bitch, god damn, etc have all been used on NYPD Blue.

What about "shit"? As in: (Cartman in Ethiopia) "This is serious bullshit!" It was bleeped out of last night's "Starvin' Marvin" rerun, but it seems like it WASN'T bleeped on the original airing. Was it? Might just be my faulty memory. -John

Yes, in the U.S. they beep the word "Fuck" and also the word "Shit" (See SP Thanksgiving Episode- "Starvin' Marvin"). They do leave in a lot of words that aren't usually heard on cable and network TV. I think that the TV-MA rating they give SP because on PBS, I watched this movie/documentary last night called "Public Housing" which PBS gave a TV-14 rating and they left countless bleepless "Fucks" in this.
