Will Eric still be Cartman???

I have a question in regards to Eric's father. If indeed his father turns out to be someone with a last name ( I figure aliens and the little guy don't count) he will not be Cartman anymore. Will he then have to go by his first name in the following episodes?

This raises an interesting point... why is his mom "Mrs. Cartman"? That implies she was married at some point, and her husband died or they separated... when will we here this story?

Persumably Eric's Dad is not Mr. Cartman? That would make it just too easy to find his dad... just look in the phone book.

They seem to have no problem ignoring the fact that Kenny dies in every episode. I'm certain they can overlook Cartman's lineage just as easily.
