The timing of this episode is a little too close to that right-wing hack piece by John Stossel. The first thing I thought while watching was that Matt&Trey ate that s#!t sandwich and had another! Stossel is an ADMITTED LIAR, remember that next time he fouls the airwaves.
Brainwashed by the liar Stossel?
Yeah, but Matt & Trey are ADMITTED LIARS too.

A couple of weeks ago the liar Stossel had a hack piece on ABC about how kids are being "brainwashed" by environmentalists about the the dangers of pollution. It was not without it's own controversy. It was a total ambush. First, he didn't let the school where he appeared know that HE was the one to interview the children. Second, he asked leading questions over and over (which was edited out) and only had the entire group answer, basically, manipulating the entire group. As for his status as a LIAR, last year he did a hack piece about organic vegetables. He stated findings about pesticide residue in organic vegetables from a study that never existed, in other words, HE MADE THE WHOLE THING UP! He had to make a retraction, thanks to the corporate media most people have never heard about it. I used to have respect for that scumsucker when he was a consumer reporter, but now I see he's just a hack.

If the devil did not exist, it follows that there is no Christ (as in being the Lord) since it would nullify the possible truth of that faith, so that comes under pretty much the same thing and something he'd also want. To the devil, or if the Christians are right, it makes no difference if you are agnostic or athiest or worship the devil because it all comes down the the same thing = you are not a christian.

Well, "we" don't. And we have. You remember James Watt, Reagan's first Interior Secretary? Paraphrase: "Let's use all our resources up now because Jesus is coming soon and there won't be any future generations after that."
Frankly, I found the idea of "environmentalists" hacking peoples' arms off and getting away with it to be pretty ridiculous, but so is feeding a kid his parents and getting away with it.
BTW, I've been an "environmentalist" since 1967 or so. In high school we went on a long field trip over a weekend, studying up close various habitats -- Chapparal, Alpine, Desert, etc. -- and these were the days when that asshole Reagan was saying we didn't need to preserve any redwoods.
What are you, some Republican or something?
Methinks it's YOU who's been brainwashed! You grow up inna Eighties or somethin'?
What do you expect from someone who lets a cartoon influence his opinions? Isn't it funny how everyone forgot that quote by James Watt?

What do you expect from someone who lets a cartoon influence his opinions?
In the interest of accuracy, I wanted to be clear that I was paraphrasing Watt's confirmation testimony. It was more like, after being asked by a Senaor if he believed we shold not go after all our natural resources "rightnow"but save some for future generations, Watt said something muchlike, "Senator, I don't know how many more future generations there are going to be after the Second Coming."
AND HE WAS SERIOUS!!!!!
Then there was a speech he gave, I forget to whom, where he berated "liberals" as this and that, really laying on the slime and tar, ending with this bizaarre deliver of the line, "Republicans ... taaaaaake caaaaaaaaare ..." What utter shit. He didn't want to take any care, he wanted to bulldoze every goddam inch.
I was a Pacifica programmer for years, and I know there are a lot of loonies out there who SEEM to be "on the left," but they aren't, and since I'm still kicking at old-school liberalism, I'm not going to stop bashing these Republicans until the REAL LOONS are exposed.
It really wasn't vey fair to depict "environmentalists" as arm-choppers. We get enough of the "wacko" and "kook" bullshit from the far-reichwing loons as it is. People who not only don't like animals, they hate them. (Except dogs, because you can control a dog.)
As far as Earth Day goes, I just did an arrangement of Tom Lehrer's "Pollution" (1964) for a quartet of "very nice" church musicians which they plan to work up by then. FWIW.
(snip)
Only "the breakfast garbage you throw into the bay, they drink for lunch in San Jose" doesn't seem all that funny anymore.
Remember, just two rules as you travel around the US: 1. don't drink the water, and 2. don't breath the air:-)
LiamD
For here I changed it to "...that you throw into the tide, They drink at lunch in Oceanside." Just south of Camp Pendleton too.
This lead sheet was terrible. It came from an "Earth Day" songbook and they had it all wrong. It didn't have the rhythms right, and worse, it was engraved with ugly Finale! I put the usual Porter madness into my realization (these musicians can't improvise from a lead sheet w/chord symbols) and restored Lehrer's idiosyncracies.
"Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" still brings a smile to me...
LOL, that's why certain works are considered classics.

So Environmentalism is such a sacred cow that we cant make fun of its more extreme members?

Ron Chambless Pilot C-340 - Weather Modification Edwards Aquifer Precipitation Enhancement Program
I just thought arm-hacking was a bit *bizarre*. Of course, I'm fully aware that this is a show where Cartman can set up two people to get shot and drag their bodies off and cook them and not be thrown into jail by even a nitwit like Barbrady, so arm-hackers can also go unnoticed and kids can jack off dogs...
OK, now I want an episode making fun of assholes who don't like cats ("They rub up against me and stare at me!"), snakes ("I'm scared of that snake fifty feet away! Get it out of the room!"), birds ("They flutter in my face!") and hamsters ("They smell bad!"). But dogs are OK ("I can control my dog!").
It was bizarre, but then isnt this whole show rather bizarre at times? Thats the whole appeal of it. I have an Environmental Science degree, and I thought the those environmental fanatics were funny, since I have seen lots of people of that type. Especially the comment "These people wont listen to logic and reason" being applied to them.. We have probably all see Environmentalists whose degree of activism depends on the cuteness of the animals being protected, and whose arguments are solely emotion and pictures, and not logic and science.
Well hopefully SP will be around long enough to spoof them all
Ron Chambless Pilot C-340 - Weather Modification Edwards Aquifer Precipitation Enhancement Program
Yeah, like the one that gave me a C in college, mainly because I had the audacity to suggest alternative points of view. For example: "Okay class, let's go around the circle [yes -- we sat outside in a friggin' circle 'to be closer to nature' -- never mind that there streets everywhere and buses roaring by every 5 minutes] and have everyone say what we should do with the 'peace dividend.'" (For those who don't know, the 'peace dividend' was the money saved by decreasing the defense budget in the very late 80s / early 90s.)
Hippie 1: "I think we should use it to prevent global warming!" Hippie 2: "We should take that money and research more solar power." Me: "We should not spend it on anything at all. Aren't we running a deficit every year that is billions of dollars? Isn't the national debt in the trillions?" Rest of class: Frowns & silence.
LOL! Well, FWIW, I say spend a little of it on all 3! But I said "Bring down the debt" years ago and a lot of REPUBLICANS frowned at me!
FTR, those are either actual quotes (which I remember well) or paraphrases( when I forget this guy's exact words) of someone we know. He didn't like our cat, and he actually said that about birds. Regarding the snake, he (age 47) was in the store with his mommy and there was this guy way off afar wearing his pet boa (altho' I agree with Jimmy and Adam about guys who wear their snakes) and this guy was getting ballistic -- "I'm gonna complain to the manager! Snakes are dirty!" BTW this guy is blind and has a guide dog, and frankly I think he abuses hs dog sometimes (and others apparently have agreed with me in the past). I heard a story from a mutual friend that around 1973 she first met him at CSU Long Beach, where he was making a huge stink out of nothing -- someone had commented on his "seeing-eye dog" and he went into a dither because it was a "guide dog" -- "DOES ANYONE HERE SEE A SEEING-EYE DOG!?" he yelled at the crowd. "I DON'T SEE A SEEING-EYE DOG! THIS IS NOT A SEEING-EYE DOG! DO YOU SEE A SEEING-EYE DOG ANYWHERE!!?" As if anyone else cared!
Trey and Matt, this really happened!

Straw man, ffoney argument. The other side is definitely dirty, but I still have to act righteous to be righteous. Oh please. It's about 4 foul mouthed little brats in a podunk mountain town. So anything with the slightest semblence of a moral is "political"?
Finally something we can all agree on.
<bluster> I take exception to that statement! (Got anything to smoke?)
But both Dems & Repubs are obsessed with fighting the incredibly immoral and wasteful "drug war." I think we all know where Libertarians stand on this issue. And no -- I don't mean we all want to get high all day, but that government should not be involved in this sort of matter. It is shameful and disgusting what is being done to millions of citizens in this country in the name of the drug war. You don't have to support drug use to be anti-drug war, iow.
Similarly -- and no debate about abortion itself please -- many Libertarians are pro-life (not me), but ultimately want pro-choice policies because they don't feel government should be involved in that matter either.

<<You remember James Watt, Reagan's first Interior Secretary? Paraphrase: "Let's use all our resources up now because Jesus is coming soon and there won't be any future generations after that.">>
I remember that.
It was, oh, so comforting to know that Reagan had surrounded himself with born-again nuts.
And wasn't it Watt who also told that racist joke about the three things that black people want? Or was that another Reagan appointee?
In article ,
In a press conference where he was defending the amount of racial
diversity in the Reagan administration ( I think, I don't really know the
context. ) he said about his staff something like, "Well I have a black, a
woman, two Jews and a cripple, and we all have talent." That remark was
treated as the last straw of a lot of anti-Watt sentiment, and he soon
resigned.
Trivia: Watt wasn't even right. One of the Jews was the cripple ( He
had a paralyzed right arm, I think, like Dole ). The last member of his staff
was just a plain old WASP. :-)
BTW: Actually wasn't it Manual Lujan, a Bush Sr Interior secretary,
who was a creationist? That was Nixxon's Interior Secretary Earl Butz. He told the joke to Pat Boone and John Dean, not knowing Dean was reporting on that trip for a publication. (Boone gulped audibly.) "Loose shoes, tight pussy and a warm place to shit."
Thanks for setting the record straight.

Right, right, right! Many thanks for the correction. Nixon, Reagan, I get them all mixed up...
Again, Nixxon's Interior Secretary Earl Butz. See my other reply. Butz was drunk as usual...
It was Earl Butts; but he was Ford's Sec'y of Acriculture, not a Raygun appointee.
LiamD
No, he was Nixxon's ("Nixxon -- where newer and stranger perversions and obfuscations of the language are invented!"). Butz was an asshole. His talk was all about "the farmer" -- but not the small-time family farmer, the agribusiness giant swallowing them up. The "family farmer" was invoked whenever he was lauding "small-town values," "Heartland culture" and the like. Places that never experienced the Roaring Twenties or The Jazz Age (all big-city phenomena, eschewed by those small town cultural leaders). Places where "we don't smoke marijuana ... and we don't take our trips on LSD." Places where young teen boys with crew cuts and T-shirts pounded the shit out of black dudes trying to sit at their lunch counters. Places that will take another 20 years to catch up with the last 100 years of the rest of American culture (such as it is). Places still fighting Rat Buchanan's "culture war for the hart and sole of Amerika."
Nixxon hired him, but he was working for Ford at the time. He even got mentioned in Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update", which was definitely after Nixxon had left office. Jane Curtin paraphrased him as "loose shoes, good sex & a warm place to go to the bathroom".
LiamD
There is no "liberal media." There is "media that sells whaever is being bought." Right now people are buying bullshit. You've got an asshole or three like Reed Irvine -- "Accuracy [NOT] in Meida" running around telling you, "The media aren't supporting us right-wing LOONS! It's liberally-biased!!" Or Stuart McBirney running around looking at commies under your bed. They're so far out in right field that theyleft the ballpark ages ago, walked three miles down the block and hid behind the Maxi Mart!
