Damien: Don't read this unless you've seen the episode!

When Damien is standing on the table in the cafeteria, the ladies are singing, "Rectus . . . dominus!" There are also some sayings of "Cheesy Poofs" mixed in. Anyway, rectus dominus is Latin for "right lord." This is ironic since Damien is the son of satan! Also, when the Prince of Darkness talks at the playground, he says something like "dominus imperius un zom." I don't really understand him, zom is all I can get out of it. It might be hebrew for Zomem (evil scheming) or Zamam (plot or scheme).

Can we start our own newsgroup for south park fans owning or pursuing masters degrees? You ask a very good question and I'm not sure many other could appreciate the irony (?) in the words from above (?) I think there's a lot of adult humor in south park, though not as much as in the simpsons. the don king character was great, as was the michael buffer announcing jesus as if he were hailing from mexico city. some of those subtle commentaries are lost in newsgroups like this. in regards to your question... i have no answer. i was just impressed with its content.

at the risk of being flamed to death...may i join the new group, too? i'm currently working on a translation of the playground scene. it's very hard to understand. my latin is relatively sound, albeit very ecclesiastical, but i'd love to bounce ideas off someone else. i found the entire episode to echo The Omen ringingly...great fun! i have my J.D., so i think that might cover the masters requirement.

and, in response to GrndWoozle, while i like the hebrew Zomen/Zomam thoughts, i don't think they would mix the latin/hebrew like that. while SP is outrageous, i have felt it to be consistent in its own weird way. and the music was fabulous. at times it's good to be a lapsed catholic...

i will let you know what i find on repeated listenings, and i hope you will do the same.
