trey and his piano

i saw baseketball for the second time and almost died laughing at the scene where trey is listening to his own song in the car. it was already funny before i knew it was him, but it got even better once i knew it was DVDA (still haven't figured out exactly what that stands for besides being some porno something-or-other that women get paid the most for).

well, anyway, i heard that trey went to berkelee school of music in boston and that he plays the piano. i LOVE music and was just curious if anyone knows what style of music he plays? legit? jazz? or what? i also went to school out in boston and knew some people who went to berkelee (though it was probably a year or two after trey was there).

I believe he took musical theater there, but i'm not too completely sure. Besides, he didn't go there long. Most of his college days were spent at UC Boulder. Trey is a classically trained pianist... he plays EVERYTHING... He writes a lot of the music for SP (espeicallly all the piano numbers heard in the earlier eps)... he composed Cannibal the Musical.... and you can hear Trey singing A LOT in SP... (Last example... The I LOVE CHEESY POOFS song in the final cut of the commercial which was also used for the closing titles).

That's also him in this last one singing the final cut of the Cheezy poofs song... His best SP work, I must say is Cartman's OH HOLY NIGHT, with that "Oh niiiiiggghhhttt..... deeee.... VIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNEEEE" transition in his voice.... I thought that was priceless. My favorite song to listen to him sing though, is When I Was On Top Of You, even though he sounds a little bit Goo-Goo-Doll's ish... However, he's thrillingly ammateurish in that whole movie, so it makes up for it. :)

Ok, about this "Oh Holy Night" thing, where is it from? Is it from an episode of SP, or something else? If it's from something else, where's it from? (I keep hearing about it, but I don't know what exactly it's from.)

I *finally* did get to hear it! I downloaded the .wav of it, and *that* was *hilarious*!!!! :) I sure wish that our school could do that for our Christmas choral concert! :) I still can't figure out how to see the video thingies, so so far ("so so far" sounds more normal when you say it--it seems quite odd when you type it. Strange...) I'm only able to listen to the little wav thingies.

Any fan of the show or Trey Parker MUST see this to believe it. It's probably one of the absolute funniest SOUTH PARK things ever made and I think everyone will agree.

actually, i think they recorded it for a kevin and bean christmas CD before it was turned into the animated thing (K&B are the morning DJs on KROQ radio out here in southern california). i remember hearing it a while before it showed up on comedy central. christy - i totally agree about being impressed that he can switch voices like that. i used to sing (my voice is shot now though) and i don't know how he does that either!!!
