Tonight's new episode

Well, personally, I thought it was hilarious. I was afraid Trey and Matt might've lost it, but they clearly haven't.

Although, I'm curious about a few things. It seems that they threw this episode together REALLY quickly, because:

1. The lack of FX when the knights came into the boardroom and beheaded that one guy and got shot at, no FX at all.

• The death of the Dragon, "Ah, lame! Lame, dude!"

While this may be a hastily put together episode, those two things made me laugh the hardest. I'm not sure if they were done on purpose to make us THINK it was a hastily puttogether ep, or if it was just an accident, either way, I thought it was hilarious.

I think you mean 'SFX.'

Should have had him puke his guts out and die. Or at the very least scream 'AW, SHIT!'

No way, dude ... I thought the stupid-voiced dragon was the funniest moment in the whole episode.

No it didn't, watch it again, it was a different exec who got his head chopped off not the CEO, who was in the very next scene.

I thought the same thing, but upon re-watching it, you can see that they are two different people due to them wearing different colored shirts...although the heads appeared identical....

As for the missing sound effects during key scenes, maybe they saved all their money for the fines they'd receive for saying SHIT 163 times!?

come on, save money. south park is a media empire unto it's own. production of that show costs so little and how much do you think is really spent on advertising? very little I assure you.

Personally, I found it a bit uneasy to noticed those mistakes myself, even a few that weren't mentioned otherwise in this NG. One that caught me for a second was when the casino guide turns into that creepy dude, but his head looked like it was on a different cel level so it appeared from behind his chest. Kinda seemed odd knowone noticed that. Also, during the scene where they're walking through the dark tunnel, it seemed like the background was a bit out of frame as well. Still, I thought it was OK (never thought about that bit with the dragon's wussy voice).

(Off-Topic) Somehow it does remind me of the Cartoon Network short they've played in December, Harvey Birdman, Attn at Law, where there was no music or sound effects tracks, and the voices sounded like they were WAV files. I've heard they've corrected it since it aired so that's a relief, thought I had to supplie the music and sound effects myself.

I can't imagine that was a mistake. It was WEIRD!!! Didn't it make the whole thing surreal and weird? Maybe it was to show that if sound effects are cut out, the impact of the scene is lost, in the same way that if a dirty word is cut out, the impact of the scene is lost. Or not.

Did anyone notice if anything was cut from the first airing to the second airing? As I'm on the west coast, I wonder if the east coast first airing sees more than we do.

I noticed no differences between the first and second showing Wednesday. Central time zone.

The re-air three hours later still had silence for that scene. Tonight, Saturday June 23, the airing had sound foleyed in to that scene.

It was most likely a mistake in editing due to the episode having gone out too soon. Either the people who work on it don't watch them close enough when an episode is "finished" or by the time they realized their error there was not enough time to fix it before airing. Since there was only three hours in between the original airing and the Wednesday night re-air, and sound inserted in the re-re-airing Saturday night, it's safe to assume that is what most likely happened...that, for whenever the error was discovered, Comedy Central needed the tape for airing, and there was just not enough time to correct their mistake.

Does seem a bit funny how they're able to fix it that fast. Do they still do the show in Denver?

Thinking back to the lamely-voiced dragon, I'm always wondering about the voice actors used for the series (either than Trey & Matt). Funny how limited they are on some levels. Not that there's any problem with them being too unprofessional, but it would be nice to see some new faces (or "voices") added to the cast rouster.

You got a good point. All the background characters are starting to sound the same. It's like every time I hear female characters on the Simpsons speak with Tress MacNeile's (sp) annoying businesswoman voice. Does everyone is town speak the same way?

I think many of the episodes have been slightly rushed - the Trapper Keeper episode, which parodied the recent US election, aired very shortly after the event.
