How many of you were perplexed by this episode as I was?

BTW, Crabtree would have lost her job for this, and I would just LOVE to know what the Colorado bus drivers' unions would do about this episode.

Otherwise, as is often the case with SP, the ep was a finely crafted satire of television cliches. First and foremost, clip shows are typically sorry excuses for episodes that usually indicate writers went on vacation. To _rewrite_ the flashbacks is indeed creative, particularly when doing so plays on the difficulty of some eight-year-olds to remember the past accurately. Furthermore, consider if you will the genius of including a doctored clip of a scene from the clip show itself. Just great, I tell you, and not perplexing at all.

There's also the dream cycle and the red-shirt reference, of course. However, I did miss the fact that the Stan-and-Wendy kisses were a foreshadowing that the episode was Stan's dream, not Cartman's.

Actually, this was done in "Get A Life". I think it was the last ep, but no longer recall...

In that ep, Chris is taking a plane to Iran/Irag for vacation ("Boy, are THEY going to be kissing MY ass when they find out I'm an AMERICAN!") and accidentally exits the plane in search of the bathroom. Eventually, he remebers the time he fell out of an airplane and wonders if he survived the fall...
