The sad thing is, the kind of disaffection and isolation isn't just confined to poor kids. I live in a fairly affluent are and I see young kids from fairly well-todo middle class families acting in the same, self-destructive way. They have no respect for law or authority, least they have no repsect for themselves, but at least those kids on TV last night had mitigating circumstances.
