I didn't think so, it was a nice reversal of stereotypes up to the very end, when Garrison said something like: "At least we got rid of all the nig". That, plus the "T"s and the "ghosts" seemed very Matt & Trey to me.
"But first, pull this thorn from my paw":-)

That episode was the best in quite a while, best of this season by far
DEFINITELY. I haven't really been laughing that much this season, and until last night I was worried nothing would compare to last season, which was brilliant. This was fuckin' great. The lower-case "t"s and the ghosts... genius! Great episode. Kenny's death was funny as hell.
How did he die??? I watched it three times, and the last time we see him before he dies, he's alive and kicking nutsacks!

Enjoy!
That WAS the joke. Sheesh!

Hasn't there arlready been a couple of eps dealing with racism before? Such as Cartman's Silly Little Hatecrime 2000 and Chef Goes Nanners?
It also seems as though Kyle's dad is no longer rich, as he's a lawyer who has made more money than just about anybody excluding Token's parents who both make a lot of money. Don't I also remember Kyle's family getting even more money plus a bigger house in Sexual Harassment Panda? Kyle's mom was shopping in J-Mart and Gerald was standing along with all the other Souoth Park men harassing the "richers" in this ep, even though he's quite rich by South Park standards.
Oh well, continuity means nothing in this show.

Yeah. And the whole KKK outfit=ghost gag was in that Halloween ep (Pinkeye) as well.
Just seems like this entire ep was a rehash of old show ideas. Nothing new. We all already knew the town was completely racist to a degree. In Chef Goes Nanners, Mr. Garrison said he wasn't racist, but Mr. Hat was. Even at the KKK meeting in that episode, you could barely make out a small Mr. Hat sitting on the ground, without Garrison holding him. Now he's as much racist as Mr. Hat.
Don't forget Tokens song, a bit identical to Kyles' song in Mr.Hankey, The Christmas poo....(i'ts hard to be a jew at christmas)

Who was it that said "There are no new jokes anymore, just new audiences"?
I guess it's a sign of the times. There are too many channels on TV, and too little new ideas to fill them with. How else is The Simpsons able to stay on the air for 12 seasons? Good South Park episodes are becoming fewer and farther between also.
I just remembered that this is a running gag in old '20s-30s comedies (the ones you rarely see now) with blacks getting terrified by anything in a aheet -- even a cat. You know, them quaint darkies, still right off the boat from Aferka and still scared o' getting nailed by de ebil eye.
Like the Three Stooges?
No, dis wood be wit de darkies bein scared to ride in de elebator lest de ebil eye nail em between flos, or jumpin up an down on de desk when der telephone ringin or runnin round in pubberlick when de ghosts come out.

Actually, I want to know how the whole lion thing fit into it. I mean, I get the thing about Aslan and the thorn in the paw, but how exactly does it fit in with the rich people thing.
Probably how it went against charachter like the rest of the episode. Who would of thought Lion's were gay pranksters?
Well, there is Tigger, but you get what I saying. __

That's the whole point: it doesn't fit in, just like Token didn't fit in with either his poor friends or his rich neighbors. But he's friends with the boys he's growing up with, and fitting in isn't such a big deal with them.
Didn't they already do "Lion King" spoof?
They did, last Christmas. This time they spoofed the Chronicles of Narnia.
Seemed more like the Lion King to me. What made you think it was the other?
The name of the lion, Aslan. It's the same name as the one in the Chronicles. And the talking lions are Talking Beasts. The (artificial) cave Aslan was in looked a little like Pride Rock, but not enough to have me believe it was the Lion King.
Oh yeah, I hadn't noticed that until now. I think I was dozing off at this point.
The whole setup, complete with the song, reminded me of the "Circle of Life" spoof they did earlier. yeah, yeah, so you want to live like the lions...
If you've ever seen the "Tales of Narnia" that was done by the BBC perhaps about 20 years ago now (not the cartoon, but with actors), the setup for this scene appears to be taken from there. Now, they weren't in a zoo, and of course there weren't the fart and burp jokes, but that would probably have made the BBC executives a bit nervous!! :)

Yes, and the town itself has been discovered a few times, like in "Chef's Chocolate Salty Balls" - the First South Park Film Festival, and in Cow Days - Tom and Mary on "WTHIT" winning a trip to South Park, so it's not like Will Smith couldn't have heard about it before. Still, it's amazing how quickly the town reverts to its former state after all is said and done, and so it can claim to be "undiscovered". It was good to see the Mayor return, though.
Damn, I forgot Chef Aid. Surely Will Smith must have heard about that. :D
Gee, what gave it away, genius? Maybe Kenny dying in every episode?
And I thought at least one of the jokes last night was a parody on the "milk the rich" and the whole "anti-rich" sentiment that gets trotted out for votes every year. Maybe I'm reading too much here.

Got a point there. I thought he'd be the rich one, too, but nope.

I felt much the same way about this episode, as I did with the bin Laden episode. I think the problem is, they've run out of ways to shock or break new ground, and are now trying to get too cute. A Simpsons Lite is what the show seems to be becoming.
You mean the last scene didnt shock you? That episode was halirious. To me, a good Southpark episode is a funny one, not necessary one with perverted and shocking behaviour. If that ep wasnt funny to you, you might want to buy some sense of humor :)

I think why people don't think this episode is funny. South Park is mainly about the four boys. This episode focused on Token. The other boys was merly extras.......

What?
No, it totally sucked.
It was almost entirely recycled materials.
You must have been watching an Ally McBeal repeat, because the last episode was hilarious and totally original.

No, he's right. We saw the racial stuff in "Chef Goes Nanners" and "Pink Eye," the "undiscovered town" and the rich folk being run out of town in "Chef's Chocolate Salty Balls." Token's song reminds me of Kyle's songs to Fidel Castro and about his Jewishness. All that doesn't make it any less fun to see, though. :) It was all repackaged nicely.
Right, and Kenny gets killed every episode. But it's always in a new way.

Unlike the way this ep was slapped togther, without an even half-arsed attempt at doing anything new or funny. Just file this one under "F", for "filler".
