To Canadians...

This post has nothing to do with South Park. Please forgive the intrusion.

I just wanted to say "maybe next time" to the Canadians. Yesterday the Canadian cricket team played the Australians at the Commonwealth Games. Canada was all out for 60. Australia made the required 61 runs in about 13 overs, and for the loss of only one wicket. The person that got out has packed his bags and has been sent home. His future career is in doubt.

Just having a bit of a go at ya - remember Australia is the top side and I don't think Canadians pay much attention to cricket. We have to find something to be good at.

FYI, in the form of the game being played at the Commonwealth Games - the limited overs games - an excellent score would be 270+. A really good score 220+, a good score 200+ (maybe lower if conditions are bad), and a pretty damn bad score no matter what the conditions are would be any score less than 150. But, like I say, I doubt the Canadians are too concerned.

Uh...you're right. Here in Canada, we all love hockey, beer, Kroff Dinner, and Celine Dion. And we all have flip-topped heads like in Terence and Phillip. I have no idea how cricket is played. All I know is that it bears one or two similarities to baseball. Or not. I'm a hockey fan, gimme a break.

You're right - I generally have to explain the rules of cricket in terms of how they are the same or different to baseball. Basically the similarity lies in the fact that either game is incredibly, incredibly boring to everybody but fans.

U know what? That's exactly what I was thinking too. And the fact that Comedy Central here only started playing SP during the summer and have stopped now =(.

Damn.. even the Thursday 1030 shows are gone! heh.. re-runs still...

Anyway, and the Comedy Network does not do any additional censoring, unlike Global. They included the line "I haven't seen a Jew run like that since Poland 1938" in their broadcast of "Big Gay Al..."
