Starting in season 3, Kenny deaths have become more and more abstract, expecially in "Chinpokomon" and "Korn". I think the trend started in "Rainforest".
I think the last good death was in "Sexual Harassment Panda".
In addition, the "Oh my God... You Bastards" has all but vanished.
I don't remember seeing a rule saying he had to die at all. It's just really really hella damn hard to come up with an original way to kill him every week I guess.

Hm, maybe because Kenny's deaths are actually intelligently plotted to be parodies of deaths in other movies? They have more substance and are more entertaining, I think.
That was the best "Death" Kenny ever experienced. Especially since it comes out of left field and his girlfriend actually saves him from death.

Well, Matt and Trey did express the need to shake the show up on occasion. Even though the show does not follow a specific continuity or status quo, they didn't want to have Kenny die all the time or for Cartman to be fat all the time either.
Let's admit it. Kenny dying tends to get old, just like the "Couch Gags" on The Simpsons, which is why certain episodes have completely done away with the couch gag.

It was a nice (still is) humourous, STARTER. Kenny dying was meant to be the *big* bit in an episode.

Kenny's death hardly ever has impact. I know I'm missing some, but the only ones I can think of where his death affected the plot were Pinkeye, Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut, Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut, Jewbilee, and the movie.

There was Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride, where Kenny was decapitate by the Cowboys and Mark Hammond announced it over the air
There was Pink Eye, where Kyle puts a chainsaw to Zombie Kenny and declares himself a bastard. Later, the boys mourn at his grave.
There was Cartman's Mom Is A Dirty Slut, where Grampa wins the $10,000 grand prize for filming Kenny's death.
There was Cartman's Mom Is Still A Dirty Slut, where Kenny's sacrifice allows the hospital to run until the storm passes.
There was Ike's Wee Wee, where the priest took time to perform a quick service.
There was The Mexican Staring Frog Of Southern Sti Lanka, where Kenny was pulled apart by two fans, and the fighting came to a halt.
There was Roger Ebert Should Lay Off The Fatty Foods, where Kenny's death confirmed the boys' fear that Dr. Adams' machine was dangerous.
There was Gnomes, where the Underpants Gnomes tried to get the boys' attention that Kenny had died. The boys ignored them.
There was Rainforest Schmainforest, were Kenny would have died if Kelly had not done something about it. It also showed just how passive the boys are about his death. They'll simply watch him die rather then assist or ask for help.
There was Spontaneous Combustion, where his death alerted the town to spontaneous combustion and set the stage for the rest of the episode. Also, Kenny gets a full church funeral.
There was Tweek vs. Craig, where the boys' reaction to Kenny's death was the same as in Rainforest Schmainforest.
There was Sexual Harassment Panda, where Kenny's death was part of the demonstration of what happens when large magnets are held too close to huge fans.
There was South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut, where Kenny's death led to his missions to stop Armageddon and get Satan away from Saddam. At least the boys asked for help in the movie, and got it.
There was Jewbilee, where Kenny's sacrifice frees Moses and marks the end for Haman.
That's it. They may be less entertaining, but they still have impact.

Yes Millasur, your very right, Kenny's Deaths are getting really crap lately...
What ever happened to all those kewl deaths from the first season, like Kyle slicing and dicing Kenny to bits with a chainsaw? Or getting shot and then impaled by a flagpole?
But now, the best they can come up with is him dying from hitting his head on a shell (episode 309: Jewbilee). The fonics monkey death was okay, but theres just no imagination in Kenny's Deaths anymore.
Anyone else agree?

Considering there has now been over 40 eps (Is it that right?) it must be getting to scraping the bottom of the barrel time. I try to make the Kenny deaths in my fanifcs as funny as possible but it's very difficult. I reckon that Matt and Trey may even stop killing him eventually.
