With all the hype and attention surrounding South Park, and all the merchandise and the airing in the UK and Canada and the videos and the movie and the websites and anything else, who benefits most? In other words does Comedy Central own the rights to it or do Matt and Trey own it? Please tell me it's Matt and Trey.

Comedy Central _licensed_ the rights to south park, and probably outright bought the rights to syndicate, and that's why the reruns are showing. I've heard that the licensing contract was for 4 years, after which the show may move elsewhere. Anyone with any other info about this?
They may have sold the rights to the show but, someone else may have purchased the merchandising rights from Matt & Trey also. Good question, if anyone knows for sure,I'd like to know myself>
