I just bought a PS3 online; I got the Wal-Mart deal where you get a $100.00 online gift card with the purchase. Actually, I've been drooling to buy a next gen system, whether it be PS or XBOX. Based on the Wal-mart deal, I went with the PS3... Of course I also bought GTA: IV, along with the HDMI/USB cable (gotta have that HD), Sony Blu-ray remote, and the advance purchase of "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots w/ BONUS Metal Gear Saga 2.0", and the Blu-Ray edition of '300'... so with the gift card I picked up the remote, and the blu-ray '300'... can't wait!!! Here's the rub- I bought everything at 5:30 AM this morning, and am going to have to wait days for it to be delivered. Okay, I've just re-read this post and it sounds like a whole lot of bragging... that's not my intent, I'm just so excited!!!

Yeah, i dont really feel the need for a remote to play movies. Once they're playing i dont usually do much but pause if i need to hit the potty.

Really? This was one of the first things I did when I got my PS3, so we could start getting blu-ray discs in the mail. I was very impressed that all you had to do was check a box in your settings page, and it automatically updated your entire queue. Niiice!

Me, too. There is no other way to do Blu-ray for me at this time. Once Blu-ray is as cheap as DVD, I'll start buying stuff. Until then, you gotta Netflix stuff.

Have fun with it. Still think the PS3 has not yet quite "arrived", but it will, so I wouldn't worry about that. And if you want a Blu-ray player right now, you gotta go with the PS3.
You do know you can do HD without an HDMI cable, right? I'm not dissing an HDMI cable at all, but there are cheaper options. I personally have the HDMI cable.
