Quintuplet Episode Comments

First, I'd like to apoligize for my troll-like behavior last week. I, myself, am a fan of the hillarious television show. It's just that I hated last week's episode so much that I had to be totally negative to it, thus making me act like a troll. Again, I am sorry for acting like that.

With that out of the way, here's my comments on last night's South Park, which was one very clever satire.

Trey and Matt still have that comical touch, as seen in this episode. They took the current news story of Elian Gonzalez (with the quints as Elian), do a complete spoof of it (from the boat escape to Saturday's raid), and then resolve it by having the quints reveal what the whole battle over them, as well as the Elian story, really is: an incident that has become too overblown. Congrats, Trey and Matt. You have came up with a witty Elian Gonzalez spoof which reveals that this battle is completely overblown.

To make the Elian spoof even more effective, Trey and Matt came up with a clever sub-plot where Kenny and his mother go to Romania in order for Kenny to improve his opera skills, only for them wanting to stay there upon realizing everyone in the country is just as poor them. This serves as a complete opposite of the main plot. Plus, it also allows Kenny to stay alive until the end.

Has anyone actually seen Cirque De Solei, the circus troupe that's spoofed in this episode?

Along with a satire, Trey and Matt completely grosses out the people with a sex scene between Stan's grandfather and the quintuplet's grandmother.

LOL the depiction of Janet Reno, who sounds like and looks like a man.

Speaking of Reno, when she dressed as the Easter Bunny during the Easter raid, who else was thinking of Monday's Daily Show, in which they show a picture of the Easter Bunny holding Elian at gunpoint a la that infamous picture?

One question about this episode: Where's Timmy, who, according to the ads, was supposed to make an appearance, and Shelly, considering most of the episode is set at Stan's house.

Did anyone else totally expect Timmy *not* to make an appearence? The whole "With a special guest appearence by Timmy!!!" bit smacked of sell-out satire to me.

It runs on Bravo a good deal. Very weird, artsy-fartsy French crap & I'm well versed in theatre. Hate it.

Obviously the episode was changed after the previews aired showing Timmy. Ony thing that was missing -- was Kenny's mom should have died on the way to Romania.

I'd love to know what really happened before they changed things to beef up the episode to make a comment on this weekend's events with Elian. Maybe more about the quints ala the Dionne quints (paying to feed them fishsticks was hysterical).

I didn't see that show, but I saw Monday's Tonight Show skit where one of the writers, acting as Janet Reno, tried various ways to coax Elian out of the house. The last attempt was as an Easter bunny. The door finally opens and several FBI agents rush in.
