Was any reason given why when kenny died the last time it was perminate?

Matt got tired of voicing the character.

I think it's more to do with both of them tired of finding new ways to kill him, and wanting to open the space for another character.

Actually, it wasn't. The Butters episode was, and featured the remaining three at the end of the show. At that point it was still ambiguous since none of the main characters appeared until then, at a stage where Kenny normally would have died anyway.

As to watching "Kenny Dies," knock yourself out, but it wasn't one of their better episodes. It also won't give you much insight as to why T&M killed off Kenny for good. IIRC, that decision wasn't even made until after the episode had aired. Here's what will give you some insight into their motives for killing him off: the ever-more-contrived deaths of Kenny. These were accompanied by increasingly disinterested responses by Kyle & Stan. What was once "OH MY GOD, THEY KILLED KENNY, YOU BASTARDS!!!!!!!" eventually became a more ho-hum "oh my god, we killed kenny, yup, we're bastards," and eventually sank to "well who didn't see that coming?"

Last I heard, he was in Vancouver making a Movie of the Week. :D

I'm sure Kenny's death was to bring all the other kids to prominence. Sure, Butters, Tweek, Token, etc had their own episodes, but without Kenny, it makes these other characters more important. How many of you actually noticed Bebe, or even her name, before the boob job episode?

Perhaps Kenny will be back, who knows...
